ABSTRACT
This research work was carried out on design and construction of mini laboratory water bath for laboratory uses to increase retention capacity of water in cases of future shortage. The samples used were having a temperature of 25 oC – room temperature, purity of the water sample used was ensured because of presence of impurities from our construction. We discovered that the quantity of heat capable of been generated by the device with a stipulated time frame is a function of its efficiency. The researcher concluded that, mini laboratory water bath is essential, without it engineering education remain incomplete. And It is therefore recommended amongst others that students are advised to embark on mass production of this equipment as its going to generate revenue for them.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Water bath is an equipment used to heat a very stable temperature much like an incubator it is used to give indirect heat to the chemicals or bacteria and maintains that temperature, water bath can hold often temperature within a tenth of a degree Celsius the water is often circulated sometime beads are used as a water –less option. We use it to gives bacteria heat shock thus loosening its cell wall our experiment needs a water bath constant at 420C so the maximum temperature of the water bath.
The mini laboratory water bath be it the older analog or digital version, will require routine preventive maintenance from time to time one of the things to always consider is filling the pan must always be done using
Distilled or deionized water often has minerals that can build up overtime and make cleaning more difficult. It’s important to never use anything but water in the pan as other materials when heated can create hazardous fumes and/or cause of fire hazard when heated. When the pan is removed for cleaning ensure the units is unplugged wipe any debris off the spilling water into th e units to avoid damage to electrical components, use only a damp cloth with mild detergents, avoiding any corrosive cleaning agent. (Taylor L., Harley C. 2009).
1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Water bath is used to incubate samples in water at a constant temperature over a period of time but does not allow the heating of a desired temperature.
1.3 OBJECTIVE AND AIM OF STUDY
The aim of this research is to constructs a mini water bath for laboratory use.
The specific objective of this study is to increase the retention capacity of water in case of future shortage.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This research is focused on the construction of a mini water bath for laboratory use.
1.5 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This research work is been carried out to construct a mini water bath for laboratory use that be beneficial to people in and around the department.
It will also advance the knowledge of how water bath can hold often temperature within a tenth of a specified degree Celsius
