Abstract
The study examines employee work attitudes and organizational image of hospitality firms in Port Harcourt. The survey research design was adopted. The study was designed to focus on some selected hospitality firms in Port Harcourt which include Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt and Le Meridien Hotel Port Harcourt. The population one hundred (100). The Taro Yemens formula was used to determine the sample size of 80. A self-designed questionnaire on employee work attitude and organizational image was used and administered for the collection of data from the respondents in which include staff of Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt and Le Meridien Hotel, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The simple percentage was used to analyses the outcome. The chi-square statistical test was employed this test was used due to the nature of the questionnaire designed for the purpose of the hypothesis testing. The study revealed that employee work attitude, employee personality and employee’s attitude influences organizational imageof hospitality firms in Port Harcourt City. Based on the finding of the study, it was recommended that was important for the firms to enhance their organizational image management strategies in order to turn around organizational image, the study also recommended that the sugar factories needed to improve their resource management mechanisms and efficiency to reduce losses and customer deliveries and that the hospitality firms needed to improve customer service by producing quality products, well packaged, branded and handle customer concerns in timely and professional manner.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
Organizational image is an important engine in identifying the employee’s attitude and the reaction of the external targeted environment. Organization image creates or establishes a public impression of an organization.Organizational image holds perceptions that different people have of an organization and such perceptions can have different sources depending on how people will know the organization. The public impression which attract the external organization audience or its stakeholder and maybe on the internal organizational members themselves.
Creating or establishing a public impression of an organization image externally, will develop through or using the media advertising channels. For example, today’s modern, organizations need an active social media presence to allow the targeted group of customers to be able to view and have clear understanding of what they want, which will help build a strong organizational image; website appearance, this is one of first impression the organization give to its targeted audience therefore, the website should contain the organizations relevant information. This platform helps organizations target external audience to have a better knowledge on the organization.
Public relation consultant (PRS), this can serve as the intermediary between the organization and the external audience to help the organizations executive to achieve its short, medium and long run goals and objectives. Some related organizational image concept are corporative reputation, organizational identity, and brand image.
Attitude towards works are the feelings that the workers have toward different aspects of the work environment.(Aries &Rizqi ,2013) . Bagozzi states that the term attitude is often used as an umbrella expression covering such concepts as preferences, feelings, emotions, beliefs, expectations, Judgments, appraisals, values, principles, opinions, and intentions (Onzima,2011). In particular
literature, attitude towards work has been defined in a different way through individual assigns meaning to work and different aspects correlate with work, (toward a person, group, situation, object or event (Cristina, 2015), as voluntary reporting to the organizational goal and professional achievement, as availability to develop, direct, regulation and maintain the effort in order to overcome obstacles and difficulties and achieve an objective. there are some element which influencing the attitude towards works, namely personality, person-environment, fit, job characteristics, psychological contract
Based on definition of attitude, it makes sense to conclude that how the employee behave in their job (satisfy or not) is depends on the result of a summary evaluation of the condition of their workplace.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
The problem statement in research captured the problems the organizations or institutes are facing based on different analysis. Poor organizational image leads to a poor performance of its employees this badly affect the organization to get where it wants to be in the competitive market.
Organizational image is a factor to many different organizations and institutes that want to compete in a particular market at a giving period. The organization image recognized by its external audience and its employees, directly affect the efficient performance of the organization. Organizations with a good image will have an effective and efficient competitive advantage in the market place than organizations without a good image.
Therefore, one can say that the success of the organization has a great link with its ability to develop a unique image.
Suggested that organizational image will be a greater source of it competitive advantage because of the uniqueness of it resources. The organizational image is an object of theoretical research in the 1956, when the economist academic Kennet Boulding raised the issue then, the researchers or the scientists started to look carefully in the general issue on organizational image this was in the 6th decade of the twentieth century. However, the study intends to examine the relationship between employee work attitude and organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt.
1.3 Objectives of the Study
The main objective of the study is to examine the relationship between employee work attitude and organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt. The specific objectives are as follows;
1. To examine the extent to which employee personality influence organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt.
2. To examine the extent to which employee’s attitude influence organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt.
3. To examine the extent to which employee behavior influence organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt.
1.4Research Questions
1. To what extent does employee personality associate with organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt?
2. To what extent does employee’s attitude associate with organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt?
3. To what extent does employee behavior associate with organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt?
1.5 Research Hypotheses
H0: There is no significant relationship between employee personality and organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt.
HA: There is a significant relationship between employee personality and organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt.
1.6 Significance of the Study
The contribution of this study consist of theoretical and practical perspectives.
This study contributes to the body of knowledge from the theoretical point of view due to some reasons point this study provides a frame work to knowledge base by developing a model for employee behavior and attitude towards organizational image.
And examining whether employees have a relationship with organizational image.
1.7Scope/Limitation of the Study
The study is delimited under the following headings; content scope, geographical scope and unit of analysis.
Content Scope: The content of this study involves on investigation to ascertain the relationship between employee work attitude and organizational image of Hospitality firms in Port Harcourt. The dimensions of employee work attitude are employee personality, employee’s attitude and employee behavior the measures of organizational image are
Geographical Scope: This study is delimited to organizational image of hospitality Firms hospitality industry in Rivers State.
Unit of Analysis: The unit of analysis involved the staff at the terms of carrying this study. The scope of this study is to ascertain the relationship between employee work attitude and organizational image of hospitality Firms hospitality industry in Rivers State.
In carrying out an investigation of this nature the researcher must of necessity be faced with some constraints.
Firstly, the time constraints, the time frame provided for this study was short.
Secondly, Financial constraints. Usually, a study of this nature involved some level of expenditure therefore; finance was also a limiting factor.
Thirdly, Poor response from the respondent and inability to access the entire population of the study. In the next segment significance of the study will be discussed and lastly, poor measurement instrument.
