ABSTRACT

This project, which is the design and implementation of an Online Bidding Assistant, in accordance with tackles the deficiency of an online auction site, such as way to message offline bidders, ability to make bids in absentia, price guide to guide against overbid etc. by incorporating facilities that will be able to cub these, the bidding assistant will be able to give better meaning to auction and not to abolish those existing auction sites. The project operates as an intranet with its database that will be operated by an administrator, which does the tasks of making sure that those visiting the site get fulfilled of the sites’ objectives. By using ASP the page interact with the database on a client server base with the server only being accessed by authorized users. To enjoy full privilege of the site user will open accounts as members.

INTRODUCTION

1.0     GENERAL OVERVEIW CONCEPT OF THE TOPIC

The essence of any software project design is to develop software that will be easily accessible through fast data and information transfer and retrieval.

In developing any software various fields and design techniques, such as best type of programming language and algorithm to use in a specific program, how to efficiently retrieve and store information and the computational limit of the software will be considered.

The method and tools for his project has been carefully chosen to enhance correct, reliable and robust software. Hence through a well design plan, all phase of the project life cycle, from problem specification and progress of design, its implementation as a program, testing of the program to maintenance has been carefully chosen. The customer carefully though of so that the website can be enjoyed by virtually every one who visits it.

1.2     STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

It has become a popular thing that most people buy their goods at times from auction bid. Auction which is a system of selling goods to the highest bidder on a condition after a deadline is now done online with the dominance of the World Wide Web. There may be instance of over bidding due to the fact that the current market price of those goods is known to a particular bidder. Also bidders may not know auction site which bids certain products and the deadline attached to that bid auctioneer more so the conditions for the auction which they are bounded by to avoid being cheated since most auction is now flooded with illegalities.

It be came necessary; which is the purpose of this project to design a bidding assistant that will help online bidders of any auction site to overcome the problem and shortcomings that might arise as to enable them make bid that are hitch free and within.

The project shall have a database that will be intractable with a web page front and to high degree reasonable prices has become      necessary.

1.3     SCOPE OF STUDY

       Auction sites can use the site when fully operational, as an awareness site to make known to bidders auction items.

       The application will help make bidding easier so as to present an alternative means to buying or acquiring needed items.

       The application will help make bidding easier so as to present an alternative means to buying or acquiring needed items.

       The application should be able to reduces the bottlenecks associated with finding auction sites for a particular interested item.

       To help member bidders well informed about any auction bid for item they registered for and help  beat deadlines.

1.4     DEFINATION OF TERMS

The project shall be the design and implementation of an online bidding assistant that will help bidders of auction site.

AIM

To design and implement a bidding assistant that will help bidders make cost effective bids on auction sites within deadline.

         OBJECTIVES

       To make available to bidders at any point a list of possible auction and goods to be auctioned and their respective site.

       To keep track of a list of interested items to bidder.

       To interface with at  least one online auction site

       To attest the bidders of up coming auction deadliness so that one can place at least one minute bid of time.

       Offer an interactive site where bidders can discuss and share ideas on price and auction methods.

       To interfere with at least one price guide website, thus warning any potential overbidding.

       When bidders is not online, alert share or her of upcoming auction deadliness through an alternative mechanism.
