ABSTRACT
Portable corrugating aluminum machine is a device which gives the less efforts of man and gives the required work properly of the construction and other metal fabricated areas. This corrugated aluminum machine is usually used in producing sheet thickness of long work piece by compressive forces applied with the help of an hydraulic jack. It is made of the desired shape (pattern) to be done on the sheet aluminum. The pattern is of a upward pattern and a bottom pattern and the aluminum plan sheet is in between the pattern then a force is applied to press the pattern against each other with the help of hydraulic jack and the shape is form on the aluminum. This process is known as sheet aluminum pressing. The global drive towards intermediate technology and sustainable development motivated the development of portable aluminum corrugating machine. For small scale artisanal manufactures. This paper present the design fabrication and evaluation of a portable aluminum corrugating machine for small scale enterprises. The machine consist of an angle iron, hydraulic jack (20 tones), electron used, base plate design (pan), the top pan, bottom pan and hollow pipe.

INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Sheet corrugated aluminum machine is usually used in producing sheet thickness of long work piece by compressive forces applied through a set of rolls (rollers), This rollers is made of the desired shape (pattern) to be done on the sheet aluminum. The pattern is of a upward pattern and a downward pattern and the aluminium plain sheet is in between the patterns then a force is applied to press the patterns against each other and the shape is form on the aluminum . This process is known as sheet aluminum pressing.
The corrugated aluminium roofing sheet is the technique in which aluminium sheets are formed and made wavy (V. pattern). Corrugated Aluminium Roofing Sheets are used to roof and beautify homes, offices, housing estates and commercial buildings. Metal roofing is the most common material used on roofs in many homes, commercial and industrial premises
However, they are also widely used as roofs or walls of factories, warehouses, cinemas etc. Many different materials can be corrugated (made wavy) to turn them into corrugated roofing sheets. Corrugated roofing sheets are the original roofing sheet for spanning across roof purlins.
Today, materials such as metal sheets and slate, are among the most common roofing materials.
It is malleable, ductile, and easily machined and cast. Aluminium is one of the most abundant elements found in the environment. The mechanization of corrugating aluminium machine introduces changes in the shape, design and the quality characteristics of the aluminium roofing sheet. The nature of these changes will depend on the interaction of the machine, process and raw material variables. Hence the objective of this work is to design and fabricates a portable corrugating aluminium machine that will be suitable to (make wavy) turn them into corrugated roofing sheets and evaluate the machine for performance during testing.
Statement of Problem
Over the years, importation of aluminum corrugating machine has really being a major issue, not only its importation but its high cost is also a major issue for an individual to purchase such machines except industries. This essence of this project is to overcome the problem.
Aim and Objectives of Work
The aim of this project is to design and fabricate a portable corrugating aluminium machine for a roofing sheet in order to eliminate the under listed problems caused by the old manual method.
The objectives pursued in this project are as follows;
i. Time consuming. To reduce time consumed using manual roller.
ii. Low efficiency. To improve on the capacity of existing corrugating aluminium machine.
iii. Quantity of product. To improve on the quality of corrugated aluminium sheet machine.
iv. Economic effective. To develop a cost effective, portable and affordable corrugating aluminium machine for roofing sheet productions.
Scope and Limitations of the Project
The scope of this project encompasses the design and fabrication of a portable corrugating aluminium machine for a roofing sheet using mechanical method.
Limitations
This project only covers corrugation of only one shape (v channel) other shapes such as the u channel etc cannot be corrugated on this machines
The machine size is 926.4mm length, 609.6mm width , 660.4 mm height. This implies that the portable corrugated machine can only corrugated plan aluminum sheet of the above dimensions, larger aluminum sheets use on some roofs cannot be corrugated on this machine
Significance of the Project
The significance of the portable corrugating aluminium machine involves the following;
i. It is easy to maintain,
ii. It is economical,
iii. It increases the rate of productivity,
iv. It is durable,
v. It is affordable.
vi. It makes the production process of aluminium roofing sheet easier and faster for the producer.
